The aims of this research was to find out to what extent do the social characteristic features “Gender” and “Disability” interact with each other with regard to the integration of people with special needs into the job market and what are the results. The central aim of this inquiry was to ascertain whether women with special needs are confronted with multiple disadvantages and if so, look into the nature of these barriers to gainful employment.

Temporary work during the economic crisis? Temporary workers, personnel leasing agencies and companies using temporary workers
This investigation focused firstly on temporary workers who were currently employed by both private and public non-profit-making personnel leasing organisations with a view to examining their experiences with temporary employment as well as their expectations, hopes and fears with regard to their future job prospects. A second aspect concerned the personnel leasing firms with regard to how these companies had reacted to the current economic conditions, what sort of business models exist and what strategies, if any, were being used to cope with the commercial problems in this field. A third subject under examination was how the activities of personnel leasing agencies affected the work of the Austrian Employment Market services (AMS) or Employment Office and what strategies were considered as feasible in practice, in order to cope with the employment market political consequences of the economic crisis.

The main points of this accompanying research were the organisation of the work, especially the process management and cooperation between the “Personal Finder” team and the Employment Office, marketing activities and finding suitable companies, the efficiency and effectiveness of the working methods of Personnel Finder and the degree of satisfaction with the provided services expressed by the companies receiving support and by persons seeking employment.
